Today is International Self-Care Day. A day when people around the world reflect on their impact, their room for improvement, and ways of living. It’s also a day to decompress and enjoy life (if you don’t get a chance to do it every day). In a time when everything from the cost of living, unemployment, education issues, social, political, and racial tension is at an all-time high, we all must take a break, laugh, have fun, and enjoy the positivity within ourselves. Whether it’s something luxurious or something simple, in person or online, taking care of yourself should always be first and most important. Here are 20 ways to celebrate International Self-Care Day.
(1). Get a manicure
(2). Get a pedicure
(3). Get your hair done/Get your haircut
(4). Get a massage
(5). Go shopping
(6). Go to the movies and watch that movie you’ve been putting off to see...
(7). ...Or binge watch on Netflix.
(8). Read poetry.
(9). Read self-help books.
(10). Write. It doesn’t have to be grammatically correct just get out all your feelings and emotions.
(11). Work out.
(12). Get into yoga.
(13). Be in the outdoors (nature walks, beaches, etc).
(14). Listen/read motivational speeches and stories.
(15). Dance like no one is watching.
(16). Sing your heart out.
(17). Look in the mirror and say everything you like about yourself.
(18). Reflect on everything you’ve accomplished.
(19). Be yourself.
(20). Be honest. Live your truth.
Oh and don't forget, it's never too late to block and unfollow negativity on social media. That's personally my favorite type of self-care!
