For everyone in Chicago and in the south suburbs, you don't have to go all the way to the north side to get the best cupcakes and cookies. Sprinkles is good, but we came across something that's definitely going to give them a run for their money.
Signature Sweets Factory had their Grand Opening over the weekend of their first store! The pastry company sells many sweets and desserts, while also offering delivery services and catering services for weddings, corporate events, and parties. With a live DJ, photographer, and celebrity guest including hip-hop producer and rapper Kwame, songstress Vivian Green, and Lifetime's Bringing Up Ballers Nikki B (which is also one of the many shows Signature Sweets was featured), the crowd definitely came in to enjoy the vibes and the made-from-scratch pastries.
The owner, Marcus J. Freeman (yes y'all he's one of us, he a brotha), is the owner and pastry chef of the company. Started his business at the age of 19, Freeman has gone on to cater for events at the DuSable Museum of African American History, the Chicago House of Blues, City Winery, and the Black Women's Expo (where I was first introduced to the company). He also had his pastries delivered to Tanisha Thomas off the Bad Girls Club and Kandi Burruss and Momma Joyce off The Real Housewives of Atlanta, and has been featured on ABC-7 Chicago, Windy City Live, and You & Me WCIU-Chicago.
You can pre-order their pastries at www.signaturesweetsfactory.com or visit their South Holland shop now!
